William "Gus" Johnson, age 76 of Lebanon, passed from this life on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Springfield Nursing and Rehab. He was born May 30, 1946 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late John Bill Johnson and Evangeline Johnson.

Gus received his Associate's Degree from Clemson University and achieved his Master's Degree from University of Kentucky. He retired from the Kentucky Historical Society in Frankfort, Kentucky as a historical architecture photographer. He had many photos that were featured in art galleries and even published his own book. He was very kind, humble and was a simple man that loved his family, nature and UK Basketball. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Bill and Evangeline Johnson.

Gus is survived by his son, Johnny Johnson (Melissa Tungate); one sister Marian McKee (Jerry Austin) and a special friend Rosie Embry.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Bosley Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Rayburn officiating. Interment will follow in Hayesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Bosley Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Steven Beard, Chris Yocum, James Riggs, Nathan Washington, Willie Wiser, Waylon Wiser and Clay Rogers.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Gary Tungate.
