Mr. Ted Shockency, age 79, of Lebanon, KY, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He was born on September 2, 1932 in Marion County, KY. Mr. Shockency was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Peter Claver, and a member of the Lebanon Knights of Columbus.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Thurman and Bessie Frances Boone Shockency; son, Jeffrey Allan Shockency; nine sisters, Arnetta Barney, Philomenia Hickman, Mary Caldwell Shockency, Evelyn Shockency, Rosie Shockency, Geneva Hamilton, Gladys Hickman, Louise Tunstull, Etropia Mudd; brother, William Shockency.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Smith Shockency, of Lebanon, KY; three sons, Robert (Reva) Shockency, of Greensburg, KY, Kenny Shockency, of Lexington, KY, Kevin Shockency, of Memphis, TN; four daughters, Gwen Shockency, of Lexington, KY, Debra (John) Zielinski, of Cuyahoga, OH, Nancy Shockency, of Lebanon, KY, LuAnn (Tim) Edwards, of Lafayette, LA; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. George Clements, and assisted by Rev. Chris Rhodes. Interment will be in St. Augustine Church Cemetery.

Visitations will be held after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 Monday evening by Deacon Joe Dant.
