Sylvester Reed Brown, Sr., age 87 of Springfield, KY, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 at Springfield Nurse and Rehab Center.
He was born on April 5, 1932 in Springfield, KY. Mr. Brown was a retired employee of General Electric, a farmer and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lizzie Durham Brown; son, Sylvester Brown, Jr.; grandson, Chris Hinkle; great-grandson, C.J. Hinkle.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Wright Brown, of Springfield, KY; son, David Brown, of Springfield, KY; four daughters, Elaine Richardson, of Louisville, KY, Joyce (Richard) Crumbie, of Lexington, KY, Ruby Brown, of Alabama, Rebecca (Edward) Fogg, of Louisville, KY; sister, Clara Duckworth, of Louisville, KY.

Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in St. Augustine Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2020 at Bosley Funeral Home with prayer services to be held at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Joe Dant
