Shirley Seely Martin passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023.  She was born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada on March 12, 1928 to William Thomas and Elizabeth Ann (McAllister) Seely.

In 1947 she met the love of her life, Hilary "Woody" Martin.  Together they raised three children, Peter (Lei) Martin, Eric Martin and Suzanne (John) Turner.

She was the driving force behind the family moving to America in 1965. The family settled in New Jersey until 1975 when she and Woody moved to Florida.  Her beloved husband, Woody, passed in 2002 and in 2004, she moved to Kentucky.  She has loved every town she has lived in and every town loved her.  Her smile brightened everyone's lives and she never met a stranger. She was invited to join, "The Wild Women's Club", but confessed, "I don't know how wild we are since we are home by 8:00!"

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Muriel McCarthy and brother Norman "Rip" (Bette) Seely.

Survivors include her children, grandchildren Erin Turner, John (Shellie) Turner, Bryn (Mike) Taday, Kallie Martin, Ryan (Meredith) Turner, Kipp Martin and Peter Martin, great grandchildren Isabella Turner, Michael "MJ" Taday and Jack Turner.

A Celebration of Life service will be held June 3rd at Lebanon Methodist Church in Lebanon, Kentucky. Visitation is from 9:00 until the service at 11:00.
