Rita Ann O'Daniel Beaven, age 96, passed away at the UK Hospice Center in Lexington on March 07, 2024. She was born on August 19, 1927.She was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and a lifelong member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She was a retired teachers aid from Marion County School System. She was a loving wife, mother, granny, who loved growing roses and making both quilts and dolls. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Tommy and Louise Hourigan O'Daniel; husband of 62 years, John G. "Jack" Beaven; brothers, R.H., Gerald, Nace, Bobby, Tommy Ray, and Eddie O'Daniel; sister, Linda Gorden.

Survivors include her four sons, Johnny (Glinda) Beaven of Springfield, Michael (Glenda) Beaven of Salvisa, David (Martha) Beaven of Lawrenceburg, Steven Beaven of Lexington; daughter, Judy (Peter) Johnson of Louisville; ; seven grandchildren, Laurie (Jeff) Carrico, Matthew (Nicole) Beaven, Christopher Beaven, Derek Beaven, John Beaven, Lindsey Beaven, Jessica Johnson-Gibson (Jake); eight great-grandchildren, Derrick, Morgan, Peyton and Brynley Carrico, Silas and Alice Beaven, Jack and Gace Gibson; brother, Bernie (Rita) O'Daniel of Louisville; sister, Peggy Jenkins of Louisville; brothers-in-law, Joe Lee Beaven and Doug Gorden; sisters-in-law, Doris Carylon and Louise O'Daniel, Patsy Logdson, Toni Mullins.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at St. Charles Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Beaven, Michael Beaven, David Beaven, Steven Beaven, Christopher Beaven, Derek Beaven.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ms. Beavens beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form on contributions to the St. Charles Cemetery Fund.
