Norma Rae Allen, age 84, passed away December 6, 2010 at the Heartland Villa Nursing Home in Lewisport, Ky. She was born on January 17, 1926 in Marion County, Ky., and lived most of her life in Jessietown and Lebanon. Norma was never married, yet was a mother to her nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews, along with numerous others of no relation in the Lebanon-Marion County area. She was a faithful daughter to her mother, living with and caring for her and sacrificing much until her death in 1995.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Twyman and Esther Marshall Sapp Allen; 2 brothers, Charles Allen and Robert Allen; a sister, Mary Kay Smith.
Survivors include a sister, Sarah Gertrude White, of Louisville, KY; 3 brothers, Bill Allen, of Houston, TX, Jimmy Allen, of Denver, CO, and Ronnie Allen, of Owensboro, Ky. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Dember 11, 2010 at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Victor Stansbury. Interment in Ryder Cemetery.
Visitations will be held 4:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, and on Sunday from 1:00-2:00 p.m..
