Mrs. Mildred Shannon Murphy, age 83, of Lebanon, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Spring View Hospital. She was born on August 20, 1927 in Marion County, KY. Mrs. Murphy was a member of the Gravel Switch Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by first husband, Lewis Shannon; parents, Perry Leonard (Len) and Dora Carrico Roller; daughter, Ramona Shannon, two step-sons, Paul and Eddie Murphy, brother, Hubert Roller.
Survivors Include, son, Michael (Kathy) Shannon, of Lebanon, KY, daughter, Virgie (Jay) Johnson, of Danville, KY, eight step-daughters, Rita (Nicky Joe) Thomas, of Calvary, KY, Mary Lou (Leonard) Spalding, of Lebanon, KY, Glenda (Carl) Spalding, of Lebanon, KY, Myrtle Garrett, of Lebanon, KY, Gloria (Joe) Borders, of Elizabethtown, KY, Lucy (Kenneth) Godbey, of Perryville, KY, Christine Doss, of Hollytree, AL, Twilia (Joey) Sallee, of Jessetown, KY; six step-sons, Louis (Diane) Murphy, of Rosedale, IN, Robert (Ettie) Murphy, of Lebanon, KY, George (Barbara) Murphy, of Campbellsville, KY, Lawrence Murphy, of Louisville, KY, Allen (Brenda) Murphy, of Lebanon, KY, Roland Murphy, of Campbellsville, KY; brother, Homer (Katherine) Roller, of Louisville, KY, two sisters, Amelia Holt, of Louisville, KY, Edna Mae Calvert, of Danville, KY; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, thirty-seven step-grandchildren, thirty-nine step-great-grandchildren, and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Lanham, with Rev. Jerry Albertson and Rev. Jerry Bell assisting.
Interment in the Haysville Cemetery.
Visitations will be held from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
