Mattie Myrtle Mattingly passed away Saturday, April 08, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. At the time of her passing she was 96 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Mattingly; three daughters, Mattie Mae Mattingly, Patricia Ann Mattingly, and Sue Beavers; one grandson, Chris Mattingly; one great-grandson, Tyler Orberson; parents, Joseph Monroe and Lillie Mae Mattingly; brothers, Harvey Mattingly, Earl Mattingly, Birtle Mattingly, Elias Mattingly, Elias Mattingly, Oldren Mattingly, and Bud Mattingly; sisters, Bessie Mattingly, Emma Jane Hagan, Zell Mattingly, Mary Mattingly, Gracie Henley and Catherine Greenwell.

Survivors include her children, Donald Mattingly (Cindy Posey), Odell Mattingly (Connie Thompson), Geraldine Mattingly, Mary Mattingly, Sammy Mattingly (Ramona Berentz), Sheila Moore, Karen Goff (Herbie), and Robert Mattingly (Robbie)  all residing in Marion County.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service that will be held at 7:00 P.M. Officiated by Deacon Joe Dant.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 13, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
