Obituary

Mason May, 21, passed away on April 10 2026, as the result of a motor vehicle accident in Lebanon, KY.

While Mason's time on earth was far too short, the impact he made on the lives of others will be felt for years to come. Known for his positive spirit, kind heart, and unwavering work ethic, Mason lived with purpose and poured himself into everything he did.

Born on October 28 2004, Mason was the third of six siblings. He grew up in Lebanon, Kentucky, surrounded by family, cousins, and friends, spending much of his time outdoors and in the close-knit rural community he called home.

A 2023 graduate of Marion County High School, Mason was recognized during high school for his dedication and entrepreneurial spirit, receiving the Marion County FFA Star in Agribusiness Award in 2023 and founding his own business, MaydeMan Lawncare. After graduation, he attended Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, where he earned degrees in Industrial Maintenance Technology and Robotics. He also worked in maintenance at TGKY, continuing to develop his hands-on skills and strong work ethic.

Mason's passion was basketball—not only as a player, but as a coach and mentor. He played basketball at Marion County High School, where despite battling back from injuries, he earned All-District honors twice. He carried that same resilience into every part of his life. Mason dedicated himself to young athletes, coaching AAU basketball with KBC and 6th grade at St. Augustine. The lessons he learned through basketball—discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and character—shaped how he lived and how he led others. To his players, he was more than a coach; he was a mentor, leader, and constant source of encouragement. His passion and love for the game will live on through every life he touched.

He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, D.C. and Barbara May; and great aunt, Joyce May Blandford.

He is survived by his father, Michael May (Leondra Avendano); siblings Isiah (Neryah), Michaela, Leeland, Avery, Rylan May, Sela, Mario and Gorda Leondra; grandparents, Roger and Cindy Barlow; nieces, Leanna and Delaney May; nephews Jraycen, Si'Yere, and Ma'Khoa Barber; Uncles, Stephen and Christopher Barlow; great grandmother Beverly Kindrick; and mother Amanda Cundiff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 17, 2026 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M, officiated by Deacon Dennis May and Rev. Brian Rafferty.

Pallbearers: Isiah May, Leeland May, Raylan May, Roger Barlow, Stephen Barlow, Christopher Barlow, Joel May, Maze Stallworth, Bubba Craig, James Jewell, Markell Bell, Dakota Gribbins, David C. May.

The family asks that in lieu of gifts, you honor his memory with an act of kindness. If you wish, share a photo of your gesture on Facebook, tag Mason in his remembrance, and include #2Blessed. Expressions of sympathy can also be made to St. Augustine to host a Mass in his memory or the "Mason Scott May Trust Fund" through Citizen's Bank to support youth who are unable to afford AAU basketball fees, to further Mason's legacy. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home for those who wish to contribute.
