Mrs. Mary Rita Smith, age 81 of Lebanon, KY, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was born on February 9, 1936 in Raywick, KY. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Aloyisous Smith (1989); mother, Emma Edwards; two daughters, Rose and Mary Grace Smith; four brothers, Joseph Edwards, John Edwards, Thomas Edwards, and Albert Edwards.

Survivors include son, Thomas Smith (Cheryl), of Spring Hill, TN; brothers, James Edwards, of Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren, Portia Smith, of Harrisonburg, VA, Diamond Smith, of Richmond, KY, Malcom Smith, of Lexington, KY; five great-grandchildren, Zariah Singleton, Ontario Hill, Brintin Singelton, Jasmyne Smith and Arieyon Smith; sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Smith, of St. Mary's, KY. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Lebanon National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Bosley Funeral Home. Prayer Services will be held at 7:00 Wednesday evening by Deacon Joe Dant.
