Mary Louise Porter, age 65 departed this life on Sunday January 06, 2019 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon, KY. She was born on January 14, 1952 in Marion County, to Frances and William Porter, She graduated from St. Charles, went on to continue her education to become a teacher. Received Scholarship to attend Kentucky State University, and graduated from the University of Louisville with a Master degree in K-4 and learning disabilities and behavior problems. Mary was recognized at the University of Louisville for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement and Excellence and was in the Golden Key National Honor Society. She was on the Dean's List at Jefferson Community College and received the Black Scholastic Achiever Award. She was a teacher in Marion, Nelson and Jefferson County. Mary loved working with kids, volunteering her time in the Louisville and Marion County. Mary leaves behind to her cherish her memories, her daughter, Tiffany Rose Owens of Lebanon, KY and her son Kevin Lamar Owens (Tara) of Indiana, Six grandchildren, Tristan Baxter, Kyvan Owens, Kamdyn Owens, Derrick McCormick, DeAsya McCormick, DaVion McCormick; two brothers, James Robert Porter (Betty Powell) of Flint, Michigan and Joseph Lee Porter (Delois) of Flint, Michigan; one sister in law, Mary Sally (Mudd) Porter of Lebanon; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, William A. Porter and Frances Anna Rose (Mitchell) Porter; one brother, William Porter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday January 11, 2019 at the St. Augustine Catholic Church; officiated by Father David Ferrell. Interment to follow in the St. Charles Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:30 P.M. Thursday January 10, 2019 at Bosley Funeral Home, with a prayer service that will be held at 7:00 P.M.
