Mary Helen Owens, age 76 of Lebanon, passed away Monday, February 06, 2023 at Springfield Nursing & Rehab. She was born November 25, 1946 in Lebanon to the late Eugene Owens and Helen Edith Owens.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who always loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed family events such as cookouts and spending holidays with family and friends. She was a one-of-a-kind person who was always laughing, and enjoying herself with family came to hang out. She made everyone's day when she would get up to dance to her favorite singer, Marvin Gaye. She was an inspiration to all of us and now she is going home to be with her family who passed before her. Her family and friends will miss her so much.

She is survived by her sons, Ardell Owens of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, William Raymond Owens of Tampa Bay, Florida, Eugene Howard Owens of Louisville, Kentucky, and Joseph "Joe Joe" (Rebecca) Owens of Lebanon, Kentucky; daughters, Theresa Owens of Lebanon, Kentucky and Kathleen Owens of Campbellsville, Kentucky; a special daughter, Dona Owens-Wellman of Lebanon, Kentucky; brother, Charles Frank Porter of New Albany, Indiana; sisters, Sherrille Porter, Edith Porter, and Peggy Porter all of Louisville, Kentucky; her step-father, Charles Porter of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jordan Yantis, Daesean VanCleave, Jaqueshia Owens, Tyquorshia Owens, Laqueasia Cowherd, Robert Hale III, Selena Mattingly, Lewis Anthony Owens, Chris Owens, Stephanie Nicole Smith, Carissa Hale, Ma'Liyah Vancleave, LaMontae Vancleave, Draelyn Owens; great-grandchildren, James Patrick Hale, Waverly Faye Hale, Se'Kani Weathers, Ty'Leigha Weathers, Jaden Moore, Jaleigha Moore, Lashaevion VanCleave, Davien Owens, Bentley Sweat and Namaiah Sweat; son-in-law, Milton Scribner, and special friends; Lucretia Rene Vaughn and Tammy Hughes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Owens and Helen Edith Owens; two sons, Anthony J. Owens and James Derrick Owens; one brother, Eugene Porter; sisters, Betty Lou Johnson, Eloise Bell and Bonnie Williams and a special friend, Joseph "Supercool" Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday. February 11, 2023 at Bosley Funeral Home with interment to follow in Ryder Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Rev. Pennae Mucker-Williams. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service Saturday at Bosley Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Yantis, Daesean VanCleave, Damontez Weathers, Amayan Rykel Owens, Martin Smith and David Brown.

In lieu of flowers, donations towards the funeral expenses are requested. These donations may be made at the funeral home, 246 S. Proctor Knott Ave, Lebanon, KY 40033.
