Mary Veronica Hill, age 96, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, August 03, 2025 at the Village of Lebanon Nursing Home. She was born on June 18, 1929 in Calvary, Kentucky to the late William Kelly and Josephine Abell Thomas. Mrs. Hill worked as a librarian at the Marion County Public Library for 27 years, she served as a director for 26 of those years. In 1984 she was honored with the award of Kentucky Librarian of the Year. At her retirement in 1994, she received the award of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen. She was a faithful member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wilburn Hill; parents; daughter, Rose Hill Caldwell; siblings, Gerald Thomas, Kelly Thomas Jr., Nora Edna Lee, James Louis Thomas, Jude Thomas, Bernard Thomas, Kay Spencer; son-in-law, Doug Jenkins.

Survivors include her six children, Theresa (Drew) Baumer, Jerry (Elinor) Hill, Janet Jenkins, Mary (Erik) Albrektson, Edna (Grant) Hughes, Ann (Doug) Blandford; twenty-one grandchildren, William Baumer, Katie (Josh) Browning, Kelly Baumer, Joseph (Erin) Baumer, Mark (Dawn) Caldwell, Jeff (Marie) Caldwell, Chris (Erin) Hill, Karen (Jon) Drake, David (Maria) Jenkins, Jenny (Scott) Lewis, Andrew (Megan) Jenkins, Drey Jenkins, Julia (Tim) Dawson, Keith (Angela) Albrektson, Kelsey (Andrew) Gerughty, Thomas (Brittany) Albrektson, Josh (Missy) Hughes, Morgan (Mike) Schroth, Molly (Mike Applegate) Hughes, Nathan (Anna) Blandford, Tiffany (Joseph) Barr; son-in-law, Mark (Sharon) Caldwell; sisters, Wilma Thompson, Lucille (Pat) Spalding; brothers, Harry (Frankie) Thomas, Nick (Rita) Thomas, Anselm (Anna Laura) Thomas; sisters-in-law, Laurentia Brussell, Margaret Marshman, Jane (Jack) McGowan, Martha Thomas, Lucretia Thomas, Carolyn Thomas; brother-in-law, Johnny Spencer.

Also surviving are thirty-two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 08, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 07, 2025 at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service that will be held at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will also be held from 9:00-10:40 A.M. Friday, August 08, 2025 at Bosley Funeral Home.

Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Mrs. Hill's grandsons.

In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Augustine School, Cancer Free Kids, or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
