Mary Carolyn Green, age 79 of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 06, 2025 at StoryPoint Middletown, in Louisville. She was born August 25, 1945 in Lebanon to the late Leonard and Madeline Mattingly. Carolyn was a faithful member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. During her time as a caregiver, Carolyn grew to know many people in Marion County and the surrounding areas. Being a caregiver was not just a job but it was her ministry in itself. She grew to truly love the people and families she cared for, even participating in jail ministries.

Besides her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Donald Green; son, Chad Green; and siblings, George Mattingly, Austin Mattingly, Joe Mattingly, Jimmy Mattingly, Elizabeth "Sis" Bradshaw, Jean Mills, William "Snooter" Mattingly, and Edward Hagan "E.H." Mattingly.

Survivors include her son, Chris (Tammy) Green of Louisville; daughter, Julie (Johnny) Anders of Lexington; sister, Ruth Ann (Alice) Mattingly of Delaware; and grandchildren, Bryce Green, Paige Green, Kenzie Anders, Madison Anders, Ethan Green, and Taylor Green.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 10, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 09, 2025 at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. officiated by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
