Mrs. Martha Celine Borders Beckers, age 91 of Lebanon, KY, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Louisville V.A. Hospital. She was born on November 5, 1922 in Lebanon, KY. Mrs. Beckers was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, a retired cafeteria manager of St. Augustine Grade School, and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Joseph "Joe" Beckers (1993); parents, Roy Thomas and Leonora Elder Borders; sister, Barbara Borders Durham; brothers, Roy, Sr., Joe and Hughes Borders.

Survivors include two sons, Vallen P. Beckers, of Louisville, KY, Gilbert Lynn Beckers, of Lebanon, KY; two sisters, Cecilia Thomas, of Lebanon, KY, Emily Coyle, of Lebanon, KY; four brothers, Arnold Borders, of Hopkinsville, KY, Harry Borders, of Georgetown, KY, James Borders, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Terry Borders, of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery.

Visitations will be held after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Bosley Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 Thursday evening by Deacon Dennis May.
