Mark Lee "Mr. Bluegrass" Lanham,
age 44 of Gravel Switch, KY, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born on December 17, 1968 in Lebanon, KY. Mark worked at Wal-Mart in Harrodsburg and owned Lanham Lawn Service. He was a dedicated and talented Bluegrass & Gospel musician, singer and songwriter. Mark was well known in the Bluegrass Music Industry throughout the state of Kentucky. He was also a member of the Dix River Crossings Band.
Mark was a loving son, father, brother, and grandfather. He was a caring friend to many and shared his great sense of humor with all.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Wilson, of Louisville, KY; paternal grandfather, Carl Lanham, of Gravel Switch, KY.
Survivors include paternal grandmother, Jewel Lanham, of Gravel Switch, KY; maternal grandmother, Sally Burchette, of Junction City, KY; loving parents, Jerry and Joyce Lanham, of Gravel Switch, KY; brother, Justin (Beverly Hymel) Lanham, of Danville, KY; daughter, Kelsey Lanham, of Danville, KY; two grandchildren, Bryson Wells and Laiken Phillips, of Danville, KY; fiancée, Cassie Polman, of Gravel Switch, KY; four maternal uncles, Ronnie (Betsy) Burchett, of Pontiac, MS, Bennie (Sharon) Burchett, of Brodhead, KY, Kelly (Tracy) Burchett, of Junction City, KY, Larry (Rita) Burchett, of Hubble, KY; two paternal uncles, Neil (Jackie) Lanham, and Brad (Debbie) Lanham, both of Lebanon, KY; paternal aunt, Mona (Rex) Whitlock, of Gravel Switch, KY; two nieces, Mahala and Olivia Lanham; two nephews, Austin and Noah Lanham. Also surviving are several cousins and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Bosley Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Jerry Lanham and assisted by Rev. Clellan Hays. Interment to follow in the Haysville Cemetery.
Visitations will be held after 5:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
