Joseph Leroy Shockency, age 79 of Raywick, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023 at Norton Women's and Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born April 06, 1944 to the late Walter Shockency and Bessie Shockency.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Louis Shockency; three sisters, Margaret Ann Cummings, Delores Furman and Mary C. Shockency; one nephew, Damon Shockency and one niece, Jesse Jackson.

His survivors include his son, Timothy (Tiffany) Shockency of Nolanville, Texas; one brother, William Cooper Shockency of Indiana; four grandchildren, Nakoma, Inez, DeShawn and Ezra; two great-grandchildren; nieces, Faye Cummings of Kentucky, Cathy Furmon of Kentucky and Andy Shockency of Texas; one nephew, Brian (Cindy) Shockency of Texas; best friends, Eddie Taylor and Harvey Porter; and other nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 06, 2023 at Bosley Funeral Home, 246 South Proctor Knott Avenue, Lebanon, Kentucky, 40033. Military Honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard at 4:00 P.M. Per the families wishes, cremation will follow the visitation.
