Joseph Ivo
Miles
Jul 29, 1942 — Jun 22, 2023
Lebanon
Joseph Ivo Miles, age 80, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Norton Hospital in Louisville surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 29, 1942 in Washington County, Kentucky to the late Joseph Roy Miles and Mary Theresa Smith Miles. Mr. Miles was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country proudly for four years. Once he was discharged from the Army he went to work for Bird Vinyl in Bardstown where he worked as the plant manager. Mr. Miles worked with Bird Vinyl until it closed, he then went on to work at Portland Forge until retirement. After retiring, he started delivering flowers for Loper's and really enjoyed driving the countryside bringing a bit of sunshine to others. His work ethic carried over into how he helped others. He never wanted recognition and was always humble, patient and kind. He loved planting his garden every year and sharing the harvest with others.
Although he suffered immensely over the past few years, his faith never wavered. "God is still good", he would say.
He was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him. May he rest in the presence of the Lord now where his body and eyes are whole again.
Many thanks to the multitude of people who loved on him these past several years!
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Ruth "Becky" Miles; parents; two siblings, Elaine Higdon and Leroy Miles; infant grandson, Sawyer.
Survivors include his son, Joseph Todd Miles of Versailles; two daughters, Lora Browning of Lexington, Melanie (Brian) Browning of Versailles; four grandchildren, Kyle Browning, Ben Browning, Jack Browning, Clay Browning; two brothers, Charles Kenneth (Marie) Miles of Perry, GA, Donnie (Nancy) Miles of St. Francis; four sisters, Judy Abell of Lexington, Shirley (Ronnie) Downs of Scott County, Valarie (Ed) Hacker of St. Francis, Penny (Phillip) Kirkland of Gravel Switch; two brothers-in-law, Larry (Lisa) Higdon and David (Joy) Hall.
