Obituary

Joseph Leon Lanham, age 78 of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Spring View Hospital. He was born April 17, 1944 in Lebanon to the late Joseph Leonard and Ruby Brady Lanham. Leon was most known for his love for his wife. You didn't see one without the other. He and Carol raised three children and gave them a life anyone would be lucky to have. But Leon always said that he was the lucky one. Leon raised his family by working his concrete plant and on his beloved farm on Pope's Creek Road and taking care of his cattle. He dedicated his life to those cows! Anyone who knew Leon knew his big voice and even bigger personality. Everyone knew when he entered the room or entered the pool. His laugh would leave a smile on anyone's face, and if it didn't, then his stories definitely would.

Besides his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lanham; sisters, Carolyn Flock, Bernice Lanham, and Margaret George.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carol Allen Lanham of Lebanon; son Joseph Steven (Michelle) Lanham of Lebanon; daughters, Karen (Roger) Cobb, and Lorrie Lanham, both of Lebanon; brothers J.L. (Mary Ann) Lanham, and Jerry (Janie) Lanham, both of Lebanon; sisters, Lois (Joe) Newton, and Edith Caldwell of Calvary; 6 grandchildren, Kurt Lanham of Lebanon, John Lanham of Lebanon, Caroline Cobb of Lebanon, Kate Cobb of Baltimore, MD, Max (Ciera) Cobb of Lebanon, and Arriston Lanham of Lebanon; 2 step-grandchildren, Jonathan Garrett of Lebanon, and Amanda (Nathan) Fogle of Loretto; also surviving are 4 step-great-grandchildren.
