Joseph Ann "Jo Ann" Spalding, age 83, 0f Lebanon, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at her residence.
She was born on March 19, 1935 to Bill and Hazel Elder. She retired from the Marion County Adjustment Center where she taught inmates upholstery work. She also did upholstery work out of her home. Jo Ann  was a member of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by:
Parents: Bill and Hazel Elder.
First Husband: George De Nardi.
Brother: Louis Elder.

She is survived by:
Husband of 63 years: James Michael Spalding.
Three Sons: William Michael (Dreama) Spalding—Calvary;
Frances Leo (Evelyn) Spalding—Richmond, KY;
Barry Dean (Lisa) Spalding—Calvary, KY.
Three Daughters: Linda Jane (Bob) Kersey—Lexington, KY;
Ann Caroline (Todd) Marcum—Louisville, KY;
Karen Maria (Bill) Rigsby—Lexington, KY.
Two Sisters: Mary Catherine Williams—Frankfort, KY;
Betty Benningfield—Lawrenceburg, KY.

Also surviving are ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.


In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
