Mr. Joseph Edward "J.E." Settles, age 70, of Lebanon, KY, passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He was born on July 29, 1940 in Marion County, KY. Mr. Settles was a member of the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Edward Settles, Sr. and Roberta Brockman Gafford; son, Charles Michael Settles; brother, Jackie Hardison.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Rakes Settles, of Lebanon, KY; son, Joseph Lynn Settles, of Wilmore, KY; step-son, Michael Wright, of Lebanon, KY; daughter, Tammy Lawson, of Campbellsville, KY; step-daughter, Jennifer Brockman, of Lebanon, KY; brothers, Bobby Hardison, of Louisville, KY, Gary Hardison, of Florida, Chris Gafford, of Louisville, KY, Larry Settles, of Clarksville, IN; sisters, Jewell Graham, of Lebanon, KY, Sue Davis, of California, Charlotte Vance, of Calhoun, KY, Sandy Hardison, of Louisville, KY, Debbie Johnson, of Elizabethtown, KY, Cindy Mueninghoff, of Clarksville, IN; special aunt and uncle, Bill and Theresa Veatch; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Victor Stansbury, assisted by Brother Larry Baker. Interment will be in the Old Liberty Cemetery.
Visitations will be held after 4:00 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
