Joseph Bertrand "J.B." Thomas, age 86, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Springfield Nursing and Rehab surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on February 05, 1937 in Raywick, Kentucky to the late Elbert Thomas and Theresa Bickett Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a proud United States Army Veteran. He spent many years working for General Electric. From there he went on to work as a mechanic, work for Luckett Car City, Loper Floral and NAPA Auto Parts. He loved being involved and working in his community and in doing so he spent many years volunteering for Marion County Country Hams Days. He was a grand knight in the Knights of Columbus where he was awarded "Life time member" as well as "Family of the year". He also served as a magistrate for Marion County. He was awarded "Citizen of the year". He was an involved member of St. Augustine Catholic Church where he served on the parish council and also served as a eucharist minister.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, William (Diana) Thomas and Jimmy (Charlotte) Thomas.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bernadine Caldwell Thomas; children, Kathy Mudd (Joe-Deceased), Theresa Carrico (Danny- Deceased), Brian Thomas (Cathy), David Thomas (Sheila), Paula Maupin (Jimmy), Kenny Thomas (Amanda); sister, Judy Reynolds (Jeff); brother, Randall Thomas (Marlene- Deceased); eleven grandchildren, Stephanie Carrico, Josh Mudd, Brandon Maupin, Allison Maupin, Morgan Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Cody Thomas, Cambron Thomas, Avery Thomas, Elin Thomas; nine great-grandchildren, Rhett Ashcraft, Addisyn Ashcraft, Larkyn Carrico, Thomas Carrico, Tilley Thomas, Colter Thomas, Hudson Thomas, Brooks Thomas, Brady Thomas.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, August 25, 2023 at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service that will be held at 7:00 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 26, 2023 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Josh Mudd, Brandon Maupin, Matthew Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Cody Thomas, and Cambron Thomas.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Stephanie Carrico, Allison Maupin, Morgan Thomas, Avery Thomas, and Elin Thomas.
