Mr. Joseph Bernard Bland, Jr., age 90, passed away at 5:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Janauary 16, 2018 at the Village of Lebanon Nursing Home. He was born May 20, 1927 in Marion County, KY. Mr. Bland was a retired rural letter carrier, farmer, and member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard, Sr and Mary Jo Jarboe Bland; first wife, Elnora Browning Bland; infant daughter, Mary Ellen Bland; two sons, Larry and John Bland; step-granddaughter, Jessica Craig; daugher-in-law, Violet Bland.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hammer Bland, of Lebanon; daughter, Janet Eastridge (Fred), of Lexington; three sons, Keith Bland (Deborah) and Perry Bland (Mary Kay), both of Lebanon, Doug Bland (Donna), of Nolensville, TN; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Bland (Shirley), of Lebanon; eleven sisters, Clarice Dant, Geraldine Miles, Mary Rita Browning, Margaret Ann Green, of Lebanon, Pauline Boone, of Howardstown, KY, Imogene "Tim" Luckett, Doris "Dot" Byrdwell, Bonnie Spalding (Joe), Leta Mattingly (Pat), Lois Spalding (Charlie), of Louisville, and Betty Boone (Kenny), of Lanesville, IN.

A Mass of Christine Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in St. Charles Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:30 p.m. Friday, January 19. 2018 at Bosley Funeral Home. Prayer services will be held at 7:00 Friday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The American Heart Association or Mass of the Air.
