Mr. Joseph Aaron Spalding, Jr., age 82 of Lebanon, KY, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at Ardens Court of Louisville. He was born on March 10, 1933 in Lebanon, KY. Mr. Spalding served in the U.S. Army, was retired from Louisville General Electric and the Marion County Sheriff's Department. He was also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Aaron,, Sr., and Cecilia Spalding; four brothers, John A., Bud, Jim, and Clarence Spalding; four sisters, Alice Rete Boone, Dot Osbourne, Patricia Walston, and Ann Beaven Becht.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Hardesty Spalding, of Lebanon, KY; four sons, Clarence (Ann) Spalding, of Nashville, TN, Steven (Martha) Spalding, of Lebanon, KY, Kenny Spalding, of Lexington, KY, Joe (Judy) Spalding, of Lebanon, KY. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Kendall (Chad) Yates, Emily Spalding, Jane Claire Spalding (Brent Hupman), Austin Spalding, Aaron Spalding, Katlyn Spalding, Michael Spalding, Alex Spalding, and two great-grandsons, Reece Spalding and Thomas Yates.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Bosley Funeral Home. Prayer Services will be held at 7:00 Monday evening by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Expressions of sympathy for Mr. Spalding may take the form of contributions made to the Alzheimer's Association.
