John Irvin Blakemore III, age 77 of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, December 06, 2024 at Landmark of Danville Nursing Home. He was born on March 12, 1947 in Lexington to the late John Blakemore II and Ann Trent Blakemore. John had a passion for classic cars, especially his 1940 Ford pickup truck. John's grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, affectionally named him Pappy. Pappy loved both his grandsons and never missed any school or sporting events.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Blakemore II and Ann Trent Blakemore; and sister, Judy Van Dyke.

Survivors include his son, John Blakemore IV (Stacey) of Danville; and grandsons, Trent and Sam Blakemore.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Bosley Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Elmore officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon National Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service on Wednesday at Bosley Funeral Home.
