James "Darrell" Spalding Sr. of Finley, passed away on December 28, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 29, 1935 in Marion County. Darrell was a long-time employee of The Lebanon Water Company, and enjoyed working everyday on his farm in Jessietown. He was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Ann Spalding; parents, Preston and Janie Spalding; sister, Edith Ann Thompson.

Survivors include his son, Jimmy D. (Linda) Spalding of Finley; two grandsons, Jimmy (Lavonna) Spalding and Jason (Beth) Spalding; seven great-grandchildren, Makayla, Bentley, Kendra, Connor, Preston, Jacie, and Brooklyn; brothers, Emmett Spalding, Charlie (Lois) Spalding; sisters, Linda (Tommy) Mattingly and Carolyn (Eddie) Blandford.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 02, 2024 at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service that will be held at 7:00 P.M.; officiated by Deacon Joe Dant.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 03, 2024 at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery with full military honors conducted by The Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
