Mrs. Helen Ruth Mattingly, age 89, of Louisville, KY, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Twin Lakes Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY. She was born on April 11, 1923 in Marion County, KY. Mrs. Mattingly was a Homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Reuben Mattingly; parents, George L. and Effie Malone Thompson, Sr; four sisters, Kathryn Buckman, Elizabeth Maupin, Dorothy Wise, Roberta Houston; two brothers, G.L. Thompson, and Kobert Thompson.

Survivors include three sons, Joseph R. (Mary Beth) Mattingly, of Shawnee, KS, Phillip G. (Marjorie) Mattingly, of Grayslake, IL, Christopher D. (Manuela) Mattingly, of Leitchfield, KY; sister, Jean Peterson, of Lebanon, KY; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Bosley Funeral Home, officiated by Fr. Brian Johnson. Interment will be in the Lebanon National Cemetery.

Visitations will be held from 12:00 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m.
