Mrs. Helen Whitlock Carey, age 82, of Lebanon, KY, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Spring View Hospital. She was born on November 14, 1929 in Liberty, KY. Mrs. Carey worked as a teacher's aide for the Marion County Board of Education.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Garrett LeRoy Carey; parents, Oscar James and Betty Lanham Whitlock; brother, J.T. Whitlock.

Survivors include son, Tim Hafley, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Glenda (James) Cottrell, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Kim Craig, of Louisville, KY; two step-daughters, Kathy Carey, of Lexington, KY, Anita (John) Elliott, of Burgin, KY. Also surviving are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at Bosley Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Victor Stansbury. Interment will be in the Hayesville Cemetery.

Visitations will be held after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.
