Mr. Gene Mark Peterson, age 78 of Lebanon, KY, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at his home. He was born on May 19, 1937 in Loretto, KY. Mr. Peterson was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and a member of the Marion County Cattleman's Association. He was an avid Marion County sports fan, especially football. He retired from General Electric Louisville after 39 years and he also farmed. After retirement, Gene Mark enjoyed traveling with Barbara, playing golf, and being with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Bertrand and Catherine Louise Blandford Peterson; sister, Benita Kolb; three brothers, Fletcher, Joseph "J.B." and Frank Peterson.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Barbara Jean Spalding Peterson, of Lebanon, KY; four sons, Gene Mark (Glenna) Peterson, Jr., of Hillsboro, KY, Joey Peterson, of Lebanon, KY, Timothy (Suzanne) Peterson, of Campbellsville, KY, Doug (Kristi) Peterson, of Lebanon, KY; daughter, Debra Peterson, of Lebanon, KY; eight grandchildren, Robbie (Regina) and Steven (Shelley) Peterson, Sarah (Corbin) Marshall, Christian, Madeline and Caroline Peterson, Olivia and Logan Peterson; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Peterson, of Loretto, KY. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon Friday, July 31, 2015 at St. Charles Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Bosley Funeral Home. Prayer Services will be held at 7:00 Thursday evening by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
