Mrs. Edythe Cooley Spalding, age 98, of Lebanon, KY, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at Spring View Hospital. She was born in Boyle County, KY. on February 8, 1914. Mrs. Spalding was a well known retired teacher who began her 37 year career with the Marion County Board of Education during World War II. She graduated from Forkland High School, Campbellsville College, and Eastern State Teachers College with a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Elementary education.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Spalding (1997); parents, Raymond and Susie Whitehouse Cooley; three sisters, Ara Willard, Georgia Ewing, and Ella Isaacs; brother, William Howard Cooley.

Survivors include son, Glenn Ray Spalding, of Kilmarnock, VA; four grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Bosley Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Peggy W. Birmingham. Interment will be in Old Liberty Cemetery.

Visitations will be held from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
