David Lee Corbett, age 85, of New Albany, passed away on April 24, 2024 at Norton Kings Daughter Hospital in Madison Indiana. He was born on April 29, 1938 in Lebanon, Kentucky.

David enjoyed watching his Kentucky Wildcats, Indianapolis Colts, and the Kentucky Derby. The latter being a significant contributor to his enjoyment. He loved to handicap the horses, specifically the Kentucky Derby prep races, the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes.  For those that knew him best, knew he liked going to the Bluegrass Stakes at Keeneland Race Course in Versailles KY. He enjoyed grilling out in the backyard with a cigar, cold beer, and occasional Jack and Coke.

David's life included the US Army, Western Kentucky University, and career in Insurance business.

He is best known to work hard to play hard. Sorry wad will be missed.

Preceded in death by his mother- Miriam C. Ruwe Corbett, father- Charles H. Corbett, brothers- Jim, Gary, and Richard (Dick) Corbett;

sisters- Jean Jaglowicz, and Susan Richerson.

Survived was survived by the Love of his life- Carolyn (Jan) Gratigny, and family; brothers- Tom and Alan Corbett; and sister- Nancy Hughes;

daughter-Vonda Corbett Smith; and son-David Lee Corbett Jr.

Along with a host of grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Bosley Funeral Home; officiated by Dr. David Whitlock.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service of Friday, May 10, 2024 at Bosley Funeral Home.
