Barbara Lou "Langford" Hatchel passed away Friday morning, May 31st, 2024, at Norton Women's and Children's Hospital in Louisville, KY.  Barbara was born on March 2nd, 1942 in Casey County, KY and grew up on the family farm on Caney Fork Rd in Casey County.  During her youth she and her family, "The Langford Family", traveled extensively singing gospel music at numerous church gatherings and on many radio programs (she played guitar and sang).  Barbara graduated from Liberty High School in Liberty, KY and attended Campbellsville College.  She attended Carrs Chapel and Caney Fork Baptist Church while growing up in Casey County and Central Baptist Church in Lebanon, KY.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents A.C. and Evelyn Langford, as well as two sisters, Edwina Bowdoin and Loretta Lee.

She is also preceded in death by her first love and husband of 65 years, Jerry Lee Hatchel.  Together, they proudly raised two sons, Jeff Hatchel of Lebanon, KY and Gary Hatchel (Cheryl) of Bowling Green, KY; two Grandsons, Dylan Hatchel (Taylor Pace) and Austin Hatchel (Nita Sehgal); as well as three Great-Grandchildren, Hayden Hatchel and Natalie and Sophia Sehgal, all of Lebanon, KY; two sisters, Janice Langford Baker of Liberty, KY and Deborah Gifford (Darrell) of New Port Richey, FL and one brother, Ronnie Langford (Lillian) of Liberty Township, Butler County, OH, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
